Entrepreneurs have the “X Factor”?

"Being an entrepreneur is not about an idea, it's about excitement."

So, what is the “X Factor”? I have tried to understand the difference between entrepreneurs and people who prefer the certainty of a 9-5 job. Entrepreneurs possess some qualities that differentiate and define them from everybody else. Here are some of the qualities that make them different.

  • Resourceful: They try to figure out unusual solutions to difficult problems
  • Optimistic. Not easily discouraged.
  • Confidence: The belief that they will lead themselves to a positive outcome
  • Risk takers. Make hard promises just to achieve their goals.
  • Innovative: The ability to see what others cannot
  • Visionary: Raw ideas are easy to come by. Entrepreneurs add depth by wrapping those ideas into a vision
  • Sacrifice: Able to delay the reward.
  • Empathetic: The ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes
  • Determination: Of course, the willingness to work extra hard is essential
  • Making lemonade: Setbacks are not setbacks but opportunities to learn, grow and move forward
  •  Persistent. No or can't be done does not apply to them, they keep trying
  • Know their limits. Good entrepreneurs know how to seek out expertise
  • Intensity. There is no “off” switch.
  • Curious. Entrepreneurs are eternally curious.
  • Trusting. Once entrepreneur’s hand over responsibility to their teams, they usually don't second-guess their decisions. .
  • Inspirational. Inspire colleagues, employees and customers
  • They don't play by the rules: They know how to get it done, no matter what.
  • Big Picture: Can see the big picture and detailed when necessary.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity.  Can manage not knowing the answer and have confidence they can come up with the answer.

I'm sure there are many more qualities that I have missed. Please send me your thoughts and I will add it to the list.
